MEMBERSHIP TIDBITS:
Membership Dues:$20 Single. $30 Couple at same address.
$15 Junior member (12 yrs and under)
Ø OSCG’s Official Year ends in MAY. Membership Dues renewed. New members who joined after December don’t have to renew the first year.
Ø Meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm.
Ø At our monthly meetings we have:
· Mini-class at 6.45pm
· Knowledgeable Speakers
· Raffle table with blooming and non blooming plants
· Silent Auction ( you bid on plants for sale)
· Show & Tell - plants displayed by their proud owner
· Wonderful refreshments
· Library – books can be checked out by members
Monthly Reward for attending meetings:
2. Are a Valid Member of American Orchid Society (AOS)
3. Bring refreshment to the meeting.
Annual Reward for being a member & attending meetings:
Ø To receive your orchid at our Holiday Party you must attend at least 1 meeting AND bring refreshment to at least 1 meeting between January – November in each calendar year.
Ø Perfect Attendance : Members who attend ALL 12 meetings from January – December in each calendar year will be rewarded with 2 orchids at our annual Holiday Party in December.
Ø At each meeting, check in at the back table to record your attendance if you wish to preserve your standing in the “Pecking Order”** for choosing your orchid at our annual Holiday Party.
Ø You must be present at the holiday party to claim your orchid.
**Pecking Order (why you should try to attend as many meetings as possible):
Members with 12 meetings choose first. Next, members with 11 meetings, then 10, and so forth. When all members have chosen their orchid, the “Perfect Attendees” will again get to choose their second orchid.
