OPEN HOUSES

Saturday March 26th there will be more Open Houses between one and four PM featuring two of our society's premier growers. Betty Eber and Lance Stelzer. Both have greenhouses where they can control water and light, and both also grow under and in the trees.

Lance Stelzer grows huge Vandas and Ascda's in a huge greenhouse. However, the plant he loaned us for the Tamiami Show display (see the display page of the website) was growing on a chain from a large oak in his yard. Check out Lance's wonderful landscape of plants and sculpture, as well as his greenhouse.

Addionally, Jordan Steele has issued an invitation for people to stop and look at the Jade vine - Strongylodon macrobotrys and the Tecomanthe hillii growing in his front yard at
927 Coral Way, Coral Gables.
They are spectacular this year. He will open his house in a few weeks when his pendant dendrobiums are blooming.

On Sunday February 20th we had two open houses in the south that were open to all local orchid societies. They were open simultaneously between one and four PM.

Elizabeth Pettit grows wonderful plants on a pool patio. We used one of her specimen plants in the Tamiami display.
